Supermac’s, announced today that it has teamed up with Dublin-based free-hotspot.com to provide free wireless Internet access for its customers in the company’s restaurants across Ireland. Pat McDonagh, Managing Director of Supermac’s, hailed the decision as part of the company’s forward-looking marketing strategy. “We are actively leveraging new media and new technologies to improve the Supermac’s experience for our customers,” he explained. “We see free Wi-Fi as an important part of this initiative.”
Visitors to Supermac’s locations will now be able to access the Internet at no cost when they are in a restaurant. The free-hotspot.com system is especially easy to use for those with iPhones, iPod, Blackberrys and other mobile devices, as users can log on to the Internet with a single click and without having to enter email address, phone number, passwords or other personal information. Supermac’s “HotSpots” are currently operating in 23 of the company restaurants in Ireland, with more locations planned to go online in the course of 2010.
