It’s back by popular demand! The McDonald’s “Great Tastes of America” promotion is once again running throughout the month of May and June across Ireland and the UK.
The marketing team at McDonald’s have once again tapped into and satisfied the demands of consumers here in Ireland, a group who continue to grow more adventurous in the their choice of fast food, seeking out a range of new and exciting flavors from around the globe. In this case for a limited time only consumers are being treated to range of distinctly American burgers; hugely popular in their own states.
Backed up by an impressive television, online marketing, and in store marketing campaign the first burger entitled “Louisiana BBQ” was launched in first week in May. The burger featured a cheese topped bun dressed with sticky BBQ sauce, slivered onions, shredded lettuce, 3 pieces of bacon, 2 cheese slices and an oval beef burger.
Just as consumers were developing a taste for the Louisiana BBQ one week later the fast food giant removed the burger from the menu replacing the it with the “Chicago Supreme” which featured chilli, chive and sesame topped bun dressed with spicy legend salsa, cool mayo, slivered onions, shredded lettuce, 2 cheese slices, 3 pieces of bacon and an oval beef burger.
McDonald’s have done excellent job generating excitement in store with consumers. The “limited time offer” has created a lot of buzz as consumers scramble to try the latest burger, or in many cases savor their choice favorite before its taken away.
Five burgers in total feature on the “Tastes of America” menu, as mentioned the “Louisiana BBQ” and the “Chicago Supreme”. The menu also features the “Arizona Nacho Grande” featuring a sesame topped, single water split bun, dressed with Nacho style sauce, shredded lettuce, 4 plain nachos, 2 slices of cheese with peppers, 4 pepperoni slices and an oval beef burger. Unfortunately for those eager to try these burgers they are no longer on the Menu, you will just have to wait till next year where these themed burgers are sure to be given another run.
Two burger still remain on the menu, from 22nd May – 28th May consumers can try the “California Melt” an oval sesame topped, single water split bun dressed with Cheese sauce, slivered onions, shredded lettuce, 2 slices of cheese with pepper, 3 slices of bacon and an oval beef burger. Ending the “Tastes of American” menu is the “New York Classic” featuring a chilli, chive and sesame topped bun dressed with mustard, ketchup, Legend mayo, red onion rings, shredded lettuce, 2 cheese slices, 3 pieces of RTE bacon and an oval beef burger.
This America regional inspired menu has generated huge excitement and foot traffic in McDonald’s fast food outlets across Ireland and the UK.
