5th Sept, UN International Day of Charity
We’ve been proudly supporting the Simon Communities of Ireland as Kepak’s nominated charity partner since 2019, helping them provide essential services to people affected by homelessness.
In the past, we loved supporting a Sunday Roast campaign which saw over 30,000 meals donated by delivering a range of beef, lamb, pork, and chicken products to the charity once a week throughout the year.
We’re delighted to have been able to support Simon through our National Burger Day Campaign. With help from burger lovers across Ireland, we were able to donate over 16,000 meals as part of this year’s campaign, which exceeds our donation of 14,000 meals to the Simon Communities as part of our 2020 campaign.
As part of this year’s burger celebrations, we also helped Midwest Simon host a Summer Burger BBQ for clients in their services in Limerick and Ennis to celebrate National Burger Day with some scrumptious Kepak burgers. Here’s what Jackie Bofield, CEO of the Mid-West Simon Community had to say about participating in National Burger Day.
“We are delighted and are very grateful for the number of meals donated to Simon Communities as part of #NationalBurgerDay, with an increase of 2,000 extra meals donated this year. We would like to thank Kepak and the public for buying burgers and, also, all the supporters of National Burger Day for their contributions to this campaign. We are very much looking forward to National Burger Day again next year!”
Last but by no means least, we’d like to thank all our loyal foodservice customers who have been generously donating their loyalty points through our Food Alliance loyalty programme, to help stop homelessness.
Supporting the Simon Communities of Ireland means helping the 16,700 people and their families across Ireland who are at risk of homelessness every year. In the spirit of UN International Day of Charity help us #SupportSimon by donating to one of the many communities across the country here.
Let’s help stop homelessness.
Together we can!
